Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has been hospitalised after he was attacked with knife by an unknown person who entered Saif Ali Khan 's Bandra ( Mumabi ) home for robbery.
Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times by the dacoit who broke into his residence around 2:30 AM. Saif Ali Khan was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. The actor's wounds included two deep stab wounds, one of which was dangerously close to his spine. Hospital officials confirmed that the extent of the damage would only be clear after the surgery. Saif Ali Khan is out of danger however.
Saif Ali Khan's team issued an official statement saying that
"There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. We will keep you updated on the situation."
An insider revealed that a nanny in the house spotted the intruder with a knife. She alerted others, including Saif Ali Khan, who reportedly intervened to protect his family. The attacker then turned on Saif Ali Khan, stabbing him before fleeing the scene. Saif Ali Khan's family has also released a statement, urging privacy during this time.
"It is a police matter, and we request the media and fans to be patient as we await updates" the statement read.
