San Ramon - California ( USA ) - Around 25 people ransacked a jewelry store ( Heller Jewelers ) in broad daylight Monday ( 22nd September 2025 ) afternoon, stealing an estimated $1 million worth of merchandise.
Heller Jewelers is located at City Center Bishop Ranch ( 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road ). Suspects were armed with at least three guns, stormed the store and smashed display cases with crowbars and pickaxes and grabbing whatever jewelry they could.
SRPD officials said no one was injured in the heist, despite several of the suspects allegedly being armed with handguns and at least one person firing rounds through the front entrance.
The suspects fled in 6 cars they had waiting in the City Center valet parking area. Police air support was able to track the suspects through Contra Costa and into Alameda County. Multiple suspects were detained at two locations in Oakland and a second location in Dublin.
A cellphone video captured the suspects locked inside the store at one point. Police said that at least one suspect fired multiple rounds to break open the glass door and escape. The door was part of a security upgrade installed after a previous robbery in 2023, requiring a security guard to press a button to let people out.
